Even before Emerson introduced a course in radio announcing in 1932, the voice training that Emerson
student received landed them jobs in the new field of radio broadcasting. This photograph comes from
Helen Choat, who attended Emerson College in the late 1920's. It shows Claire Crawford (center) and
her four announcers at WASN (the All Shopping Network). Helen would soon take the place of the woman
on Claire Crawford's right, and she would also adopt her radio name, Nancy Howe.
